Laura Gillen

Managing Director, UK

As the Managing Director, UK, at WE Communications, Laura Gillen is responsible for a number of WE’s technology clients in the UK and internationally in addition to several more corporate-focused clients. As part of the UK Leadership Team, Laura plays a key role in client excellence, people development and marketing for the agency.

Joining WE in 2011, Laura now has 15 years of agency experience behind her. Before WE, she spent six years at the LEWIS PR Group where she focused on B2B and B2C technology clients including British Telecom, iRobot and Dell. Laura's career reflects her ability to spot innovative gaps in the market. The beginning of her career saw her help launch the first ever BT Business Broadband package and in 2011, she launched Panasonic’s (and Europe’s) first ever water-proof phone. Laura then spent two years working on Skype, post Microsoft’s acquisition, helping navigate a new world of business communication.

At WE, Laura works with leading clients including HPE Aruba and has a passion for business-driven thought leadership. Her work at WE has seen her design and deliver global and award-winning multi-year integrated campaigns including #GenMobile for HPE Aruba. This generated over £2m profit in sales for HPE and gained a gold SABRE award. Laura also sits on the PRCA’s UK tech committee and is a big advocate of team growth and empowerment, concentrating her efforts on driving a collaborative and motivated culture.

Outside of work, Laura loves spending time with her large Irish family. She also likes traveling the world and enjoys activities such as doing yoga and scuba diving in exotic places.
