WE's Laura Gillen and Other Women Leaders in PR Share Words of Wisdom and Career Advice

To celebrate International Women's Day 2024, PRWeek asked women working across the PR and comms  industry, share the career advice, words of wisdom and guidance they would give their younger selves. Representatives were picked from both agencies and in-house PR and comms functions, including WE's UK managing director Laura Gillen.

Laura offerd this advice for her younger self. "I would tell my 25-year-old self – who had unwittingly fallen into the world of PR – to take more channces and worry less about possible outcomes. Embrace the new path in front of you with braveness, boldness and curiosity. I'd also counsel to seek out new and unexpected sources of information: listen and learn from other women in the industry, attend trainings and workshops, and soak up books and podcasts. Oh, and take that big trip you think you can't afford – you won't regret it!"
